Issues

British Columbians have a lot on their minds and the NDP Official Opposition has been listening. This is what we’ve heard:

  • Forest workers and their families are worried about their jobs.
  • Small business owners are worried about the price of gas and the lack of tourists.
  • Homeowners are concerned about meeting their mortgage payment and falling house prices.
  • Students wonder how they are going to pay for rising tuition.
  • Seniors are worried about their retirement savings.

Add to this the fact that Surrey-Green Timbers residents will find themselves facing increased costs over the next several years as it will become more expensive to travel outside Surrey. Why? Because this government has announced the Port Mann bridge will be a toll bridge, and that the Golden Ears bridge out of Langley will be tolled. For Fraser Valley residents, the Patullo Bridge will cost over a billion dollars to replace and most likely will face tolls. Christy Clark isn’t putting families first. She keeps reaching into our pockets.

It’s time real solutions were brought forward and as the MLA for Surrey-Green Timbers, I will continue to hold this government accountable.
